Echoes of the Deep - Painting of a Whale with Beachsand

Echoes of the Deep

In “Echoes of the Deep,” I seek to capture the majestic presence of the whale—a creature of profound grace and mystery—as it moves through the endless blues of the ocean. Using a meticulous pointillist technique, I build the scene dot by dot, mixing pigments, linseed oil, and the very sand of Keurbooms Beach. Each point of color becomes a whisper of the sea, a fragment of the vast, shifting waters that cradle these gentle giants.

The blues in this piece are not merely colors but emotions: the deep indigo of quiet solitude, the cerulean of playful waves, and the turquoise of sunlit shallows. The sand, gathered from the shores of Keurbooms, grounds the painting in the tangible world, connecting the viewer to the land and sea that inspire this work.

Through this painting, I invite you to pause and listen—to the rhythm of the tides, the songs of the whales, and the stories carried by the ocean’s endless horizon.

Beneath the Surface - Whale

Beneath the Surface

This piece is a meditation on the unseen—where light dances with depth, and the ocean’s whispers become texture. Each dot, a blend of oil and the granular memory of Keurbooms Beach sand, maps the quiet majesty of a whale gliding beneath the surface. The monochrome palette strips away distraction, leaving only the essence of movement and mystery.

Framed in wood, this work invites you to pause and feel the rhythm of the deep, where time slows and the world breathes.
