Drawing of Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris

With this drawing I sought to capture the strength and grace of two powerful figures: Kamala Harris – first female Vice President of the United States, the highest-ranking female elected official in U.S. history – and a majestic black horse. They share characteristics of resilience, determination, and elegance.

Unlikely Kinship - Bernie Sanders and Orang Utan

Unlikely Kinship

This vibrant soft pastel drawing explores the unexpected connection between an orangutan and Bernie Sanders.

Using bold colors, the artwork captures the intelligence, empathy, and adaptability shared by both figures.

The orangutan’s expressive face and Sanders’ determined gaze highlight their deep sense of community and responsibility.

Despite his age, Bernie Sanders continues to draw huge crowds, especially in the wake of recent actions by the new US government. He tirelessly fights for social justice and against the oligarchs taking advantage of working-class people.

Both Sanders’ political ideals and the orangutan species are endangered and at risk of extinction, underscoring the urgency of their struggles.

This piece invites viewers to consider the universal traits that connect us all, emphasizing the importance of empathy, intelligence, and community in our shared journey.

Broken Trust

Broken Trust

This watercolor painting captures a pivotal yet often-overlooked moment of broken trust—a handshake extended in supposed agreement, while deception lurks beneath.

The Western man, his fingers subtly crossed behind his back, symbolizes the hollow promises made to the indigenous people of the Kalahari.

The Bushman, standing with quiet dignity, accepts the gesture in good faith, unaware of the betrayal that will follow.

Greed - Bald Eagle

Greed

A bald eagle, bathed in the golden light of the sun, soars through the sky with its prey—the Earth—gripped tightly in its talons. Rather than a symbol of freedom, this eagle embodies unchecked power and greed. Its claws pierce the planet’s surface, leaving deep wounds that bleed into the waters below, a stark reminder of the destruction inflicted by selfish ambition.

On the ground, two refugees stand in disbelief beside the tents of their camp, bearing silent witness to the devastation. Their presence speaks to the countless lives displaced and destroyed by the pursuit of dominance and profit. The eagle’s eyes, filled with dollar signs, reveal a relentless hunger for wealth and control, indifferent to the suffering left in its wake.

This piece confronts the consequences of greed-driven actions and the human cost of power without conscience. It serves as a reflection on exploitation, displacement, and the urgent need for accountability in a world shaped by those who value profit over humanity.
